The Ulster County Board of REALTORS® Community Service Committee collected monetary donations to make 300 Thanksgiving baskets for those in need for the holiday.
Kingston, NY, November 18, 2023- The Ulster County Board of REALTORS® Community Service Committee volunteers annually to support the local Ulster County and Hudson Valley, NY communities. For the month of November, our Community Service Committee worked hard to collect monetary donations to help locals in our community in need to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday as well.
The UCBR Community Service Committee was able to gather sufficient food to fill 300 Thanksgiving baskets for those in need. The dedicated efforts of these two organizations will ensure that many people will enjoy a plentiful meal this Thanksgiving.
The Thanksgiving baskets:
- Will be donated to Community Action to be handed out.
- All baskets contain nonperishable items.
- Thanksgiving baskets contain items for an entire Thanksgiving meal as well as dessert.
- All baskets were made from Aluminum Turkey trays to provide cooking materials as well.
“We are so grateful to those who had it in their hearts to donate to those in need this holiday season and to ensure many in the community will have a hot, filling meal.” Stated the UCBR Community Service Committee. “This holiday is all about being grateful to have wonderful family and friends while we sit around the table and enjoy a wonderfully prepared meal. However, sometimes we get so caught up in the holiday we forget that there are those in our community who cannot afford that luxury”, says Peita Williams. “We had so many in our amazing community reach out to us and help to help ensure local families in our area are not left without enjoying this plentiful holiday. It is the season for giving, and we are grateful for all of the support to make it possible to feed so many families.”
This announcement follows the success of other recent donation campaigns by the Ulster County Board of REALTORS® Community Service Committee, including the recent Operation Backpack, during which they gathered over 200 backpacks and school supplies for local children in need.
