The Ulster County Board of REALTORS® Community Service Committee hosted our annual Operation Backpack this past August. Operation Backpack is an annual fundraiser with our REALTORS® to raise money and collect donations of school supplies for local kids in need. We were happy to have another successful year of helping our local community.

This year, our REALTORS® and local community came together to help us donate 200 backpacks full of supplies to children in local motels, shelters, and any other children who have been temporarily displaced. These supplies will be made available to anyone who is suffering from financial hardship as well.

Community Service Committee Co-Chairs Pieta Williams and MaryAnne Miller were truly grateful for the donated supplies. “We have a great community that is always there to help with our events and fundraisers. We are grateful for our fellow REALTORS® and community members who came together to supply the local children with necessary school items. These children will be able to now have the appropriate materials needed to ensure they have the same opportunities as other children.”

Ulster County Board of REALTORS® President Allison Organtini stated, “We are so happy with the results this year! We appreciate our fellow Board of REALTORS® members and our local community. Thank you so much for your donations!”

All donations were collected the previous Friday and have begun to be distributed to the children in the Ulster County area. Thank you again for all the school supplies donated to help create a future for our children.
