During this very unique year as well as the holiday season, the Ulster County Board of REALTORS® community service team and all of our members are committed to helping our local community, those less fortunate, and those in need. Giving back to Ulster County is an important part of our work and we’re happy to be part of such a great community. We know how important this is, especially during the holidays. While many of us are very lucky to call Ulster County our home, it’s important that we can make a difference to our whole community. The UCBR, as well as Ulster County, have some great initiatives going on that everyone can get behind to support our community, whether it’s a monetary donation, volunteering, or organizing food and gifts for those who would otherwise not be able to do so during this holiday season.

The UCBR has several ways for you to get involved this holiday season, with some of their own initiatives. This includes Thanksgiving items as well as warm winter coats for our local schools to give out to kids that otherwise would not be able to purchase a winter jacket. With the unfortunate circumstances the pandemic has brought to many families, the need this year for both jackets and Thanksgiving baskets is greater than in years past. Donations checks can be mailed to Ulster County Board of Realtors at 74 Broadway, Kingston NY 12401.

In addition to the fantastic community service initiatives the UCBR Community service team heads up to give back, there are also other ways you can help your local Ulster County Community. Family of Woodstock is a great resource that also has a Holiday Help initiative. They work with Ulster County and surrounding communities to help ensure everyone has access to a hot Thanksgiving meal, as well as they have programs that allow you to sponsor a child or family for the holidays. This program allows you to donate gifts for the families so that they too can enjoy the holiday season, which may not be possible without our community support.

Additional resources and ways of giving back to the Ulster County community can be found at the links listed below.

Of course these are just a few of the many programs offered throughout Ulster County that are focused on giving back to our community and those in need.

In addition to supporting the UCBR community service initiatives, checking in with your local municipality on how you can volunteer your time, whether helping put together meals, serving those in need Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, or organizing with your family and friends to put together meals and gifts for those less fortunate in the area is a great way to put a smile on others faces, especially during this time of the year, which can be incredibly difficult for those struggling in the current pandemic climate. One of the greatest parts of living in Ulster County is the sense of community each town has. Giving back to your community is a great way to show your appreciation to be able to call Ulster County your home, and help those less fortunate have holiday comfort. For more information on how you can give back, please visit the UCBR Community Service page, or check in with your local town on how you can get involved this holiday season.
