Recently the Hudson Valley Catskill Region MLS released its 2021 Annual Meeting Report. Between membership growth and Ulster County residential sales growth, the numbers and trends were incredibly positive! Read the full story below.
Ulster County Board of REALTORS® and Hudson Valley Catskill Region MLS Membership
The Ulster County Board of REALTORS® has seen positive membership growth in the past years with the biggest growth coming from 2020 to 2021. In 2007, there were 1,213 members, however as the real estate market hit a slump, membership numbers also saw a decline. In 2011 we had just 786 members due largely to the challenges the real estate market faced. By January 1, 2020, we grew back to 848 member thanks to some of the real estate boom alongside positive community engagement that helped more real estate professionals learn about the benefits of joining the UCBR. And currently, we’re thrilled to announce that we broke the one thousand mark again with 1,013 members. Cheers to all who are a part of the Ulster County Board of REALTORS® and have helped contribute to this growth!
Do you work in real estate? Are you interested in becoming a member? Membership definitely has its benefits! In addition to earning nearly twice as much annual as real estate agents without the REALTOR® designation, joining the Ulster County Board of REALTORS® means access to professional development programs, expansive networking opportunities, legal support for you and your clients, and so much more.

Ulster County Sales Trends
In addition to our membership growth, we also reviewed residential sales trends for the past 18 months across Ulster County. The results are positive and continue to showcase positive growth for sales in the region. Ulster County was actually above the national average for median home sale price of $352,800, coming in at $360,000! Inventory is selling fast, with just an average of 40 days on the market for July through September. That’s down from 68 days the prior period, 71 days for the same time last year, and 108 days looking back 18 months ago to January through March of 2020.
While some national trends are showing a cooling off in the residential real estate market, the good news is that we are not seeing those trends here in Ulster County. The market here is still hot, hot, HOT!
