A Successful Coat Drive from the UCBR Community Council

Our children are our future. Essentially, it is our job as their local community to ensure they are taken care of and our families who are in need are given a helping hand. The Ulster County Board of REALTORS® Community Council is also striving to find new ways to help give back to those in the local Kingston, NY area and Hudson Valley region. This past December, the Community Council announced that they would be hosting a local coat drive to help provide brand-new coats to children in Kingston city schools who are in need.

The Ulster County Board of REALTORS® Community Council would like to thank everyone who donated coats to children in need during the December campaign. The community council was able to collect 175 coats that were delivered to Kimmer Gifford who works with the Kingston City School District and distributed the coats to children who did not have one.

Along with the coats, the Ulster County Board of REALTORS® Community Council had also hand-crocheted hats that were also delivered to the Kingston City Schools. The Community Council stated, “ We know that there are children who, unfortunately, do not have coats to help keep them warm. Many of the children will also not have hats, so we decided to hand-crochet hats for the children. We believe that this would be a “thoughtful Holiday gift” for them. We are grateful for the efforts of those who donated coats and for our members who put in the time to crochet the hats. It shows if we all band together, we can make great changes for the better.”

Thank you to all of those who bought and donated coats for the Ulster County Board of REALTORS® coat drive as well as the members of the Community Council who donated their time in crocheting hats.
