Map | Marlborough

The Town of Marlborough, NY, and its Hamlets of Marlboro and Milton are known for their long and rich rural history and their dedication to sustaining their agricultural heritage and farmlands through the promotion of agritourism. There are dozens of farms and orchards, wineries and farm-to-table restaurants all within a three-mile radius.

Located an hour away from New York City, between the Hudson River and the Marlborough Mountains, the rolling hills of Marlborough offer exquisite views of the bucolic Hudson River Valley. The Marlborough area was first settled in 1697, after being designated a territory by the English three years earlier. In 1788, the Town was established.

For centuries, the “Heart of the Hudson Valley” has thrived on its seasonal bounty and — with the help of the nonprofit organization Meet Me in Marlborough — now offers an ideal weekend getaway opportunity for foodies and wine aficionados, fans of festivals and farm stands, and urbanites looking for a B&B and a spa treatment.

DID YOU KNOW?

English colonists named the Town of Marlborough after John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, an English soldier and statesman whose career spanned the reigns of five monarchs. During the Spanish Succession War in the early 1700s, Churchill led 10 consecutive successful campaigns, strengthening British arms to a level not known since the Middle Ages and ensuring his country’s prosperity throughout the century.
